We’ve decided to cancel our Saturday March 17th program due to the SunTrust Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Marathon occurring that day from 7am to 2pm.

This is a city wide event with many road closures that day – almost all of which circle our central location on 16th Street NW.

Please do not try and attend Food for All DC that day.

Sorry for the invonvenience. We will be operating normally on all other Saturday’s in March.

Big weekend coming up

Please come along and help out this weekend. It’s a great way to give back as well as have fun and meet new people.

This weekend we have some awesome groups coming to help us:

American University School of Public Affairs (they are coming even though it’s the weekend before midterms!!)
Alpha Phi Omega, Zeta Phi Chapter, at Howard University (again, most likely cramming for midterms! but taking a break to help)
National Iranian-American council (NIAC) (it’s the National Iranian-American Day of Service so these guys are really keen to help!)

Of course our staple group Greater DC Cares will be there as usual as they have been every Saturday for years!

We need volunteers to help with the following:

making up cardboard boxes

packing boxes with food

carrying and stack boxes (great workout)

breaking down recycling etc.

helping out in our food pantry area

staffing our new Welcome Desk!

helping out with our special diet food boxes

helping with our routes/maps

loading cars with boxes

Bringing a car to DRIVE and deliver boxes!!!

Assisting drivers and being a NAVIGATOR

When you arrive head for our new ‘Welcome Desk’ where we will greet you and get you signed in etc.

No training or time-commitment necessary – all welcome.

Thanks to all our volunteers for making FFA a big success last weekend. We had a great turn out and delivered to over 60 households. Special thanks to the Federal Communications Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Committee, Howard University’s Drum team, Deloitte and of course Greater DC Cares!

Hopefully we’ll see all you guys again.

Thanksgiving is almost here !!! Food For All DC will be working especially hard on Saturday November 19 to deliver as much food as possible to our needy clients. We ALWAYS need more volunteers with a car who can help deliver food to our clients. Please come at 9am on 11/19 or any other Saturday to help out !! We will be CLOSED on Saturday 11/26. The beautiful weather means a few things to our program: First of all, it can be harder to recruit volunteers this time of year. Secondly, the sheer pleasure of being out in the neighborhoods and doing good is that much more fun and rewarding. Come out and share your spirit with your community.
